What’s the purpose of a cultivator?

The compacted soil impairs the development of crop plants and impacts crop field productivity. To decompact the soil and consequently improve the storage of water and development of plant roots, Stara engineered the Fox cultivator.

The shanks of Fox, which are 30 mm thick, penetrate the soil and disturb the more superficial layers to reach a maximum of 26 cm. Thus, they prepare the soil for not-till farming, keeping the straw and consequently providing better water infiltration.

It saves 70% of straw and keeps a large part of the soil surface protected, different from conventional cultivators that save 25%. Additionally, Fox cultivator shanks require less tractor power, reducing fuel consumption by 25% since they provide narrower furrows.

In addition, it features the vibration system for soil decompaction. It ensures uniform soil operations. It is equipped with an automatic disarming system which provides faster and more efficient operations. As a result, safety pins are not required to be put in use and eliminate frequent changes to arm the shank.

Additionally, Fox is designed to work with the tandem assembly, which allows for operating with two cultivators at the same time, consequently increasing the daily income. The assembly is available on these models: 9, 11, and 13 shanks.

As an optional feature, Fox is equipped with the KS seeding kit that features a seed hopper by gravity for soil cover. Its seed distribution system is activated through the levelling roller by chains. The polyethene hopper has a high capacity. The models vary from 315 to 680 litres according to the number of shanks.

Aquarius Project studies suggest an increase of 7.2% in the soybean crop yield due to soil operations. For high soil compaction areas, the area where the cultivator worked produced 2 sacks per hectare more than the one without the cultivator management. The area with low soil compaction produced 7 sacks per hectare more than the area the cultivator managed.

Fox cultivator leaves your crop field soil ready for planting.
