April marks the beginning of the work of Stara at UPF Parque. With the structural part ready, on April 18th the activities for the development of new technologies began officially.

In March, Stara and UPF signed a partnership agreement and, from this, a unit was installed at the Parque to develop innovative software for Telemetria Stara, using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, connecting and transforming data into valuable information for farm management. “The partnership has been possible due to the opportunity for the company to be near the students and look for new talents, in addition to the innovation and new ideas for new projects, providing the exchange of information and interaction with other companies that work in the Parque”, claims Guilherme de Oliveira, product engineering supervisor.

The operation of Stara at UPF Parque counts on three trainees from Computer Engineering and Computer Science courses with the guidance of coordinator Andrei Pacheco. “Stara is an innovative company that has been standing out in the market. Being part of this project gives us the opportunity to learn and grow, both as students and as professionals”, says Leonardo Osvald de Souza, one of Stara trainees. Also, the trainee Homero Kemmerich adds that making the technologies available to the farmer is the challenge. “I believe that our greatest challenge is developing products with integrated technologies that may facilitate the work of the farmer in the field”, he concludes. The team is working in three innovative projects that are already happening.

The research and the technological innovation are the principles of Planalto Médio Scientific and Technological Park of Passo Fundo University (UPF Parque), and they meet Stara motto of constant evolution. The space joins startups and innovative projects, providing the development of initiatives and improvement of technologies.
