During the month of September, Stara’s CEO, Gilson Trennepohl, and his colleague and friend Euclésio da Silva are performing the pilgrimage in the Route of Santiago in northern Spain.
The pilgrimage is held annually by thousands of pilgrims who make the journey walking. In 2014, more than 240,000 people made the pilgrimage, with a history of over 800 years. The path taken by Gilson and Euclésio started in France and ends in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, covering over 800 kilometers on foot. The walk is considered one of the toughest in the world, putting the body to the test, while the landscapes and history make it mystical, magical and spiritual.
“The universe will always demand something from us to offering something in return. From us it demanded that we walk all these mountains to be here and have this wonderful vision,” said Gilson after rise over 1450 meters to the top of the hill O Cebreiro, where the sight is one of the most beautiful. “Nothing is for free, you have to pay to deserve it. We walked strong, we gave our energy, and the universe allows us to enjoy that moment, enjoy nature,” concludes Gilson.
Gilson and Euclésio already walked more than 680 kilometers and it is expected to finish the pilgrimage in the end of the month.
