Last Friday, June 7, Stara received an important person in the global scenery in precision farming, Mr. Richard Ferguson, doctor in soil fertility by the University of Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. Richard is famous by acting in diverse lines of research, among it: site management of specific crops, vegetative Dossel sensors for evaluating the stress of nitrogen and water, soil sensors and the most recent work with unmanned aerial vehicles “VANT’s” as alternative for the management of precision farming.

Dr. Ferguson along with a retinue of the Aquarius Project led by Professor Telmo Amado meet with the engineering and product marketing department from Stara. After knowing the factory, engineering and the products Dr. Ferguson conclude:

“Stara has global technology, I’m impressed with what I could see here, it is incredible to see this and meet a company that produce and develop everything…machines, electronics, software, hardware, telemetry, being dedicated to solve the challenges of global food production.”

Dr. Ferguson is also participating from the II Wrokshop de Agricultura de Precisão (II Workshop of Precision Farming) that happens in Frederico Westphalen/RS, June 8 and 9.

Through the partnership with great teaching institutions, Stara is always seeking the progress and amplification of new technologies, especially in the precision farming area, to strengthen its commitment along with the farmers.
